We’re a quarter of the way through the fantasy season! If you were smart enough to draft Dalvin Cook, congrats. If you were unfortunate enough to draft O.J. Howard, we’ll try to help you pick up some replacement options.
Ito Smith, Atl RB
While Smith only carried the ball twice last week, his season-long efficiency has improved dramatically from last season. He is averaging 5.7 YPC and with Devontae Freeman running ineffectively so far, it is only a matter of time before we see the Falcons adopt something close to a 50/50 split. Smith can’t be relied on against a tough Houston run defense this week, but upcoming matchups against the Bengals and Rams make him an intriguing pickup.
Jimmy Graham, GB TE
Graham has scored a touchdown in every game he played this year and was targeted 9 times last week. With Davante Adams nursing an injured toe, Graham has a chance to continue as one of Rodgers’ top targets. Health and age is always a concern with Graham but he’s worth a look in 12-team leagues.
Geronimo Allison, GB WR
With a steady complimentary role as the team’s third receiver, Allison is as boom-or-bust as they come through the first four weeks. However, a potential shootout with Dallas is coming this week and Davante Adams’ health is in question. Owners in leagues with 12+ teams would be wise to consider Allison as a FLEX option this week.
Vernon Davis, Was TE
He’s come back down to earth since we last mentioned him on this list, but Davis remains the Redskins’ number one tight end while Jordan Reed recovers from him concussion. Users looking for tight end replacements can do a lot worse than Davis, who is a touchdown-dependent TE2 but gets to play the Dolphins in Week 6.
Jameis Winston, TBB QB
I was so high on Famous Jameis this year that I drafted him in all of my leagues. Week 2 was somber as I rushed to pick up a replacement as quickly as possible. Don’t look now, but Winston has played great the last two weeks and his receiving corps just embarrassed a respected Rams secondary. If you’re looking for some QB depth or a streaming option, Famous Jameis can be your guy.
Darwin Thompson, KC RB
A popular sleeper candidate heading into the season, Thompson has seen the running backs ahead of him get decimated and it still led to him playing only four snaps last Sunday. It looks like Andy Reid isn’t going to trust Thompson this season and Thompson can be safely cut in all formats outside of dynasty leagues.
DJ Moore, Car WR
Moore has only seen seven combined targets in the two games that Kyle Allen has started. Compared to the 24 targets he saw from Cam Newton in the first two weeks of the season, it may be time to ring the alarms. Moore is still a hold in standard leagues but should be benched for the immediate future.
